How to disable alarm on ford f150

Can someone please tell me how to disable my alarm system. I have a 1998 F-150 and it is driving me crazy. My alarm goes off whenever it wants. I am sick of it. I I took it to a shop and they said it was a door sensor. I dont see, however, what the door sensor has to do with it when i dont arm my system when i get out of the truck.
