My 310-8 gets more work than all my other horses with gas mileage as a bonus. As a side note it’s my humble opinion that the single Kohler 8 speed tractors are some of the most durable wheel horses ever built. That one inch axle is laughing at you. Edited September 20, 2018 by kick

Is 80 w 90 gear oil whats suppose to be wat it calls for? Need suggestions... Bypass the PTO switch. If that doesn't fix it, bypass the clutch switch. Once you have determined which switch is the culprit, hook the other switch back up and make sure it still works. Then get some new switches and correct the problem properly. I am an advocate of proper use of safety switches.That was why they put 22's on the 310's and 312's to give enough clearance for that specific deck. As far as tranny ratios, again, no problem. They used pretty much the same tranny across the line either in a 1" or 1-1/8" axle configuration. The effect on torque and available power will be negligible.Wheel Horse 310-8 controls. If the grass is even at a moderate height but thick and the humidity is up, my 42" deck will slow down.
