The body position allowed for a ton of control and agility. It was easy to navigate tight corners and rocky bits. Overall the ZFS-5 climbs well, with a bit of a trail bike fit and feel. The Smuggler is an excellent compromise bike. The Smuggler falls right in between the Spur and Sentinel. With 130mm of rear wheel travel and a 65° head tube angle, it’s right where I’d want a nimble trail bike to be. It’s stable enough without going overboard and nimble enough without feeling sketchy.Minds were blown yet again. Fast forward to this year, Ibis has now AF-ed the Ripley. It based on an alloy frame and at 65.5 degrees it’s a whole degree slacker than the carbon version.
