Dec 31, 2019 · As noted JK's with with the 3.6 run hot.. fan does not usually kick in till 226-228.. so if under load, steep hill for example, temps in the 230's can be expected.. Best advise is to make sure you have the least amount of stuff you can blocking the grill. sink the winch down in frame, remove grill inserts etc.

On hot days (temps in 90's plus), my Jeep would overheat while driving regardless of speed. Higher speeds didn't help cool it off. In older vehicles that had questionable cooling fans, you could just drive 50-60 and the airflow through radiator was enough to keep your engine happy. Not so in the JK.
