Hp laptop flashing charging light

Hello I have just switched to using a new laptop and the problem is the charger light is constantly blinking white. It blinks when it's on or shut down. It blinks for 3 times in a row then 2-3 second pause then starts again. When on charge the light switches to orange for a second then back to the previous pattern however it is charging fine.
