Having said that, I usually go 35% all around, but on this car, I agree with such a large rear window it needs darker tint; I went with 20%. I told tinter to put 35% on the rear sides, but he mistakenly put 20% as well (everybody does it that way here, possibly because SUVs come like that), and looks fine.You may also want to request brand of tint as well (different films might look from outside and visibility from inside might be different). The stock window tint for the MK7 is 72%, so 35% * 72% = ~25%. So overall, the net tint for my windows are 25%.
